Prop Hunting

Location: Starbucks, Brighton

I have officially been released from the rehearsal room, out into the wild of London (and Brighton) to hunt and gather the props for Britannicus. At the moment, most of that work involves me surfing the internet for epic amounts of time in coffee shops - a highly desirable way to spend my working day. However I must keep a limit on my coffee intake. After a giant bucket of cappuccino yesterday I felt extremely jittery and unnecessarily verbose.

Today I'm in Brighton to check out the shops while I'm staying down here - there are some gorgeous places which we could make use of and I headed straight to the junk Mecca, Snooper's Paradise on The Lanes. Its so much fun to wander around that place. My job is to take lots of photos to feedback to the designer and SM team and just see what is out there.

Its a lot of research at this stage, finding contact details, googling images and emailing Production Managers. Its pretty stationary so I've broken it up today with wandering in Brighton, checking out charity shops for smaller items - nothing bought at this stage, just lots of photos.

For now I will leave you with a photo of my desk (by desk I mean table in Eat from Tuesday - please note the bucket of cappuccino)
