Absent Theatre (Update 4 of 4)

Location: 185 bus.

Last update (lots to update so thank you for sticking with it!)

Publicity is out and tickets are now on sale for Old Rabbis in the Sky via Tristan Bates website. I'm very excited! Will go out into the world and put up posters soon to advertise our presence. Got a warm response from friends and family which is so meaningful. Yes I would like industry to know we're creating profound and challenging theatre, but seeing several friendly faces would be amazing too.

Had a brief break while I've been running around doing shows this past fortnight but now we'll hit the ground running and shape the show to something I'm proud to present to London as my directing debut. It still doesn't quite feel real, but each time I see our poster (which I've lx taped to my bedroom door!) it reminds me of this big moment in my career.

As such, I'm contemplating getting a tattoo.

I've always wanted a tattoo, and I promised myself I would get my first one to commemorate a significant moment in my career - something I would achieve in the future and know I was doing what I wanted with my life. I decided soon after that I would get one to celebrate the first play I directed in London.

Apparently thats happening very soon! Can't believe its happening already. It always felt like the unachievable dream. The distant point to work towards but now its soon and I'd better meet it head on and acknowledge it, not shy away from this moment. I want to enjoy it.

I've drawn the design I want - my own design - and I know I want it on my wrist. I would have gotten a tattoo there earlier but when I was working in the service industry I was nervous that it would be frowned upon. But now I feel more secure in my career - not ridiculously stable, but I can say I work in theatre and for money - I want to celebrate that move in the right direction.
Hoping to go to Camden the day after Old Rabbis in the Sky and get it done. How exciting!

Ok so that is all the updating for now. But stay tuned for tomorrow, as I'm announcing something rather exciting...
