Exciting things, general update.

Location: Exmouth

Currently on tour for 'How The Lion Became King of Tinga Tinga Land' - we've been touring for about a month now and we're into the swing of it. Completed a two hour get-in, the quickest we've ever done it. The team is great, I'm working with an ASM, a lighting and projection technician and a sound technician. We're working very well together and its lovely to reunite each weekend in a new location, unload the van and despair at the condition of the set after a week left in said van.

During the week I stay in London and work in Greenwich, on my independent projects and see friends. I'll give you a quick run down of current work, handily organised into categories!

Absent Theatre:

We're starting to organise our next event -
Fragments of an Artist (The Harrison Pub, 9th December)

This show is a collection of pieces on a similar theme, presenting more of Eleanor's new work. We've just booked the date with the venue and are now discussing ideas for staging, publicity etc.

Plain Sight:

Caecilie's concept for a children's show has entered its first workshopping stages. We invited physical performers to Greenwich on Wednesday and Caecilie led them through some improvisations. It was great to watch and I'm excited for the next stages. We're also talking about potential venues, we're hoping to take the performance into libraries in Lewisham and other South East London boroughs. I'll be assisting with direction and taking a more stage management-based role on this production.

Stage Management Work:

OutFox Productions have asked me to return as Stage Manager for their next production at The Brockley Jack Studio Theatre. Its called Carbon Dating and this will be its UK premiere, following the production's origins in Australia. I'm so happy to return to work with OutFox, working with John and Kirsty was such a treat, and to return to The Brockley Jack is fantastic! I love this space, right on my doorstep.

And finally....

I've been asked to direct a show at...

THE KING'S HEAD THEATRE!

I am so very excited. This is such a great opportunity and so unexpected. The writer, Wayne Gumble, approached me after seeing that I had stage managed Restitution at The King's Head in March, and then had a look at this blog - and then got in contact.

So a) people other than my mother read this
and b) I'm so grateful to my aunt, Anjie, for suggesting I start this blog up in the first place.

So thats my news very quickly. Autumn/Winter 2012 is set to be a blast.

Amy x
