On Beauty

Location: The Brockley Jack Theatre

On Monday we present the first preview of Eleanor Rodda's new work 'On Beauty'. I'm directing the show (as per the way for Absent Theatre) and it marks the first step on and exciting journey to our first joint international performance.

We will be performing in Avignon, France, in May. The Théatre Au Chapeau Rouge has kindly invited us to participate in their first English-speaking theatre festival. It's a great honour and I'm very very excited to be directing my first show which will be received by both an English and French audience.

But before we catch a plane to France at the end of May, we are presenting our show to London audiences at two venues.

The first venue, The Harrison Pub, has hosted two of our shows before and we are very excited to return there. We are very grateful for their continuing support of our work.

A month later we are performing at Wilton's Music Hall in a studio space. After working there several times as a stage manager, it's great to present work as a director in this historic theatre building.

We conclude the tour by returning to The University of Sheffield, the place Eleanor and I met and started working together. This is very exciting too and holds great significance for us both.
