But enough of the failings of the London Underground. To the exciting news!
Absent Theatre Company is performing at the Tristan Bates Theatre!
We've confirmed a venue booking for the 24th March (write it in your diaries) for two afternoon shows (1pm and 2:30pm). Tickets are £6/5 and I'll post booking info as soon as its out.
Eleanor and I are ridiculously excited, but now the hard work begins. Everyone is so busy at the moment that scheduling rehearsals, doing all the necessary prep and publicity is proving a little tough. But my god are we going to make this happen!
We've increased our numbers at Absent. We're working with a designer for publicity images (which look amazing) and brought in a stage manager to help with logistics, props and wot not. I'm very happy to bring someone in to help. I'm capable of doing the work, but I want my sole focus to be on the direction of the piece. That is why I want to stage it! I also want to do Eleanor's work justice, its both of our careers we're launching and I don't want to be distracted by the stage management side of the production.
We're inviting as many people as we can think of. We want to invite as many industry people as possible as well as the important people in our lives who have helped us this far with their love and support. There is of course a financial element. If we sell about half our days ticket quota we'll break even. It boils down to each member of the cast, myself, Eleanor and our stage manager Mariana inviting about 12 people each. Totally achieveable.
To everyone who reads this, lives in London or can get to it and is free on the 24th, please come and share this with me.
