Edinburgh Fringe 2013 - Done

Location: Coach to London.

Another Edinburgh done.

It's been a very satisfying month for work, I've thoroughly enjoyed working my daily shows and the extra shows of McNeil and Pamphilon Go 8-Bit have been really exciting. With only five shows, everything stayed fresh and I still got nervous before starting a show. It was the most technically demanding of my shows, with different guest acts each time, requiring additional new cues. The level of adrenaline was incredible and I loved working on such a late night rowdy show. Working with Caroline, Catriona and Sad Faces has been lovely and I've really enjoyed being a part of three fantastic shows. It was always a pleasure to work on them and know my contribution to the show has been appreciated - which is a great feeling.

I've also enjoyed some recognition for my work in reviews. It's very rare for a techie to get such public praise and I've had two mentions in glowing reviews for Sad Faces Threw A Party - which I think is rather cool.

While this month has been great, I'm ready to return to London to start work on The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-In-The-Moon Marigolds (with OutFox Productions). I'm really excited about the production team we've got on board and we have three of the five roles cast with some fantastic actors. I saw a lovely show by Tucked In called Sam Rose in the Shadows. The lighting designer for this, Will Ingham, is designing for my show and after seeing the beautiful work he did for Tucked In, I'm very excited to see what he will contribute to Marigolds. Sam Rose in the Shadows is having a run at Greenwich Theatre and I wholly recommend seeing it.

For now I'm on hour seven of ten of my coach trip (ouch). Looking forward to a shower, seeing my housemate Eleanor and settling back into London life. It's incredible to think this time two years ago I was preparing to move to London. I couldn't imagine being anywhere else to work.

But that's a post for another time.

I'll leave you with those two lovely reviews.
